Mathematics and Mechanics Masters degrees in Caen

Welcome to the Mathematics and Mechanics Masters degree website

Our Master degree currently consists of three four-semester programmes, known as spécialités:

Students wishing to enrol in the first year (M1) must have successfully completed three years of university studies and thus obtained a French licence or equivalent. Students wishing to enrol in the second year (M2) must have successfully completed four years of university studies and thus obtained a French maîtrise or first year (M1) masters degree or equivalent.

Students are expected to enrol in one of the three programmes, each of which allows them to obtain 30 European Credits (ECTS) per semester. The programmes comprises a mixture of course and individual project work. Further information about each programme may be found on the corresponding website.

Although most courses are taught in French, some second-year courses of the pure and applied mathematics (MFA) and mechanical engineering (IM) programmes may be taught in English if there is sufficient demand.
