Further information for foreign students wishing to enrol in the MFA programme

Courses in the Mathematics and Mechanics masters in Caen start early September and students that have been authorised to enrol are expected to have arrived in Caen by then.

Students without a French licence and intending to come to Caen to enrol in the first year (M1) of the masters degree must first register on the student portal of the university web site (International rubric, then Étudiants étrangers). The forms must be filled out in French. Students wishing to enrol in the first year of either the ME or MFA programmes should register for Mathématiques-Enseignement-Recherche (MER). For students with degrees from outside the European Union, this must be done between February and April. For those holding degrees from within the European Union, this must be done between June and September. Precise dates and other details can be found on the student portal.

Students from non French speaking countries wishing to enrol in the first year (M1) of the mathematics are required to have a proficency in French language of level TCF niveau 4 or DELF B2 or higher. Further details are to be found on the student portal.

Students wishing to enrol in the second year (M2) should contact one of the MFA programme coordinators.

The French government agency
CampusFrance has been set up to promote French higher education throughout the world. Registration with the agency is compulsory for prospective students of certain nationalities and should be done well before the intended date of travel to France.
