Welcome to Caen

The 17th International Conference on Fibonacci Numbers and their Applications is scheduled for the week of June 27th -- July 2nd, 2016.

The conference is for people from all branches of Mathematics with interests in the properties and applications of Fibonacci and other special number sequences. The themes of the conference are those of the Fibonacci Quarterly.

Every participant will be welcomed to contribute a 20/25 minutes talk.

Caen is not a very large city, and many tourististic and cultural events take place around that time of the year, so we urge participants to book their hotel as soon as possible.

Every one of these conferences (since 2008) hosts a plenary speaker -- the Edouard Lucas Lecturer -- and Jean-Paul Allouche, a researcher at the French CNRS (National Center for Scientific Research), gentleman and enjoyable lecturer will be our invitee. Here is a link to the abstract of his intended lecture.

Thanks to our several sponsors the registration fees are substantially lower than at some of our past conferences; we hope it will incite new participants to join in. This number theory conference, organized every two years since 1984, brings together, besides professionals, some amateurs, artists, spouses, friends, etc. in a convivial and unique spirit. It will have French and Norman spices this time around. The organizers, with the support of the mathematics department, the university and the city of Caen, are happy to welcome you and the Fibonacci conference in Caen.
